Summer City Chic

Lately, I have been in love with flowy shorts. You may remember these shorts from my post Birds of a Feather Look Good Together . I loved them so much, I decided to make a ” fancy” pair with silky black fabric. I also wanted to add a sash and make the back have a ruffled look, since they do have elastic in the back.

IT HAZ POCKETZ!

As for the top I have made this one before but I haven’t yet posted a blog on it. The top is my own version of McCalls M7757 View D. I took the long sleeved version of this top and modified the sleeve to fit the style I wanted, more of a bell shape. I used a scalloped edge eyelet fabric to achieve the look. With the sleeve I attached an elastic well above the scallops by stretching it and sewing it on with a stretch stitch instead of making a casing. I also omitted the bottom elastic of the bodice so that the scallops hung loose and gave it a flirty yet elegant look. This top is going to be great with a pair of ripped jeans as well. I look forward to the fall with this top!

Just gonna dance walk across this bridge.

Not let’s talk about these bangs! They are totally fake and maybe you can tell, but I really wanted to try a different look for this shoot. The look I had in mind was sort of city chic in the summer and bangs are just what came to mind. Since my hair isn’t cut into bangs I decided to make my own bangs using hair from my bun. It looked great, that is until the wind started blowing them around. What matters is that I made it work and I achieved my look! But hey, if you want to try fake bangs all you have to do is look them up on YouTube! What CAN’T you find on there?( lol)

Bangs looking good!

Well, I hope you all enjoyed this look! Drop me a comment below if you have any questions or find me on Instagram @andreanaturally (I think you should do both though lol). Thank you for reading!

Embrace the chichos!
